Do you know our camp workers? Whether you think you do or not, you might be surprised at what you learn about them here!

Thanks to every one who responded to our request to participate so we could get to know them better even before we all arrive at camp.

Rev. Duane Quesenberry

Hometown: Grew up in East Tennessee.

Parents, their occupation: Rev. & Mrs. Vinton Quesenberry, retired pastor and wife.

An oft-stated perspective, remark, story, lesson from one or both of your parents: My parents both taught and modeled the importance of being active in ministry. Although retired, they currently conduct weekly church services in nursing homes.

A memorably happy / sad / unusual childhood experience: Happy memories for me are Sunday evenings after church, in the parsonage with my parents and three older brothers, and playing bluegrass with my brothers.

A particularly interesting or strange or fun job you may have had: I served as full-time chaplain for Lakeside Hospice in Pell City while pastoring Tarrant Bible Methodist Church.

Your first car (and something about it): A red VW beetle which caught fire, burning my face and singeing my eyebrows on the day of my high school senior portraits.

Where/how you met your spouse: Church homecoming in Shelbyville, TN.

The proposal: Eden Park, Cincinnati, OH, while a freshman at GBS.

Years married: 22

Family info: 4 children - Ashley (16), Autumn (13), Stewart (11), and Kaley (7).

Someone who has greatly influenced your life and how/why: Tarrant Bible Methodist Church, our first pastorate with a great congregation who loved and encouraged us.

Hobbies: Family, and motorcycle rides.

Collections: Gray hair.

Pets: None.

An especially enjoyable vacation location or activity (whether you have been there/done that or not): St. Simon's Island.

A favorite style of food (e.g., Italian or Chinese, etc) or item (e.g., cheesecake): All of the above. I plan to enjoy some Alabama BBQ while in AL. Also a meal at Hamburger Heaven in Irondale.

Something you would like the world to know: Jesus Christ.

Something most people don’t know about you: They never tell me. I guess I'm pretty bland.

Something most people are surprised to find out about you: See above.

A meaningful song, quotation, book, scripture, etc: Romans 5:8 - "God commended his love toward us in that while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us."

Current city, state of residence: Hampton, VA (East coast, 2 miles from the beach!).

Rev. Larry Grile

Rev. Larry Grile will not be able to share Bible studies with us because he is experiencing severe back pain and cannot travel. Please remember him in prayer as he goes through several treatments to relieve the pain.

Rev. Gene & Angie Davis

From Gene:
Born and raised in Columbus, IN.

Graduated from Columbus North High School; The Christ Hospital School of Nursing, Cincinnati, Ohio (Nursing, 1992); and Union Bible College, Westfield, Indiana (Pastoral Ministries 1999); Currently enrolled at Indiana University Purdue University of Indianapolis.

I proposed to my wife at Potter's Bridge, the place where we had our first date. I proposed at the stroke of midnight on New Years Eve, 1996.

I love to travel and some of my favorite places include Israel, England, and Hawaii.

The person who has influenced me the most was my Grandma Davis. I can still remember walking into her house and hearing her pray for me.

I love Italian food and sweets, sweets and more sweets (anything with lots of sugar).

I want the world to know that God loves them.

My favorite scripture is Psalms 46:10: "Be still and know that I am God."

Favorite Hymn: "It is Well With My Soul."

Favorite Books: "There was an Old Lady who swallowed a fly" and "Green Eggs and Ham."

Currently live in Frankfort, Indiana (home to the Frankfort Hotdogs)

Married to my best friend Angie and have two wonderful boys (Connor and Kent) and no grandkids in the near future.

From Angie:

Canadian born; grew up in the Dawn Valley Bible Methodist Church.

Met Gene at Union Bible College; 1997 graduate with an AA in Sacred Music.

Studied music, but really not much of a musician (I like the piano more than it likes me).

My favorite Scripture is Psalm 19:14, because it's a much needed reminder.

Regularly teach French at Frankfort Covenant Academy, and will also be teaching etiquette this year.

Currently working
in the Children's Ministry at Frankfort Bible Holiness Church in Frankfort, Indiana.

Love making cookies (but my pie crust is lethal).

Tries to run/walk at least 4 miles every day (this is mostly because of the cookies).

Favorite hymn: "And Can It Be?"

Loves the word pictures in the writing of Max Lucado.

Momma of two lively little blond boys; Connor (10) and Kent (6).

June 20th is 13 years of wedded hilarity for the Davis household.

Chinese food, coffee and chocolate bring much happiness.

Works part-time cleaning a local antique store (because nothing says fun like 5 hours of dusting...)

Favorite expression/motto: "I Choose Joy" - A joyful heart is more about our choice of attitude than our circumstances.
