Several December events brought extra visitors to us. Our highlight was our Christmas program. Forty people gathered for the presentation by the youth. Also, several brand new young people were involved!

God has been helping us over the past few months, and our influence has been extended. We rejoice to welcome frequent guests to our services. We are also encouraged at the emphasis on prayer among those who regularly attend. Several are making it a point to arrive early to spend time in the prayer rooms before service, and we are looking forward to good things as God responds to His praying people.

Our work in Clovis, NM, has been steadily moving forward...

From Secretary Alexander: In January, the Church Expansion board video conferenced (Skype) and made some important decisions with Bro. Darrell Underwood and Bro. Darrell Lee Stetler regarding the church plant in Clovis, NM. (We appreciate that Bro. Darrell Lee Stetler is willing to help from OKC with coaching and technology implementation.)

From Pastor Underwood: Some of you may not know I am in the Air Force. Before we even think about launching an aircraft, we do things to ensure a successful launch. It’s no different with a church. Rev. Darrell Lee Stetler, Rev. Hedstrom, and Rev. Alexander have been working hard to help us ensure a successful church launch. I’ve been working to get to know our local ministers and our community. We have identified our target area and obtained a meeting space.

Recently we received some very useful donations: a mixer and speakers, and a communion tray (Do you know how much those things cost?). Thank the Lord and the generous people who gave!

Recently, we were honored to have Bro. & Sis. Hedstrom with us for a Sunday morning service. He encouraged us greatly with an anointed message. He also brought a special blessing, a complete P.A. system for our church! This is something we really needed and God, through some special people, provided for us. We are so appreciative and thank God for those who made it possible.

Winter 2012/2013

Early in December we ran into logistical problems with Kids' Club. We were nearing maximum capacity for our little sanctuary. Also, we were transporting most of the attending children, who live near us, across town to the church. Two minivans were making two to three trips each. After praying and consulting with Bro. Hedstrom and other leaders, we decided to try to relocate Kid’s Club to a church near to where we and most of the children live. Attendance increased almost immediately to as many as 45 children! Thank God for His leadership!

Not only is Kids' Club growing, but also the Hurst family is growing! Our son, Kin, married Josie Wiseman, from New Mexico, in Salina on December 21, 2012. She’s a wonderful addition to our family and our church!
